Below, you can read a little more about how we perform the cleaning services we offer. We hope this information will help you make an informed decision when it comes time to book professional cleaning services for your home or office space. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask! We'd love to discuss your cleaning needs in more detail. Thank you for considering Cloverdale Carpet Cleaning!
We believe steam cleaning, otherwise known as hot water extraction, is the best way to clean carpets. Using specialized tools, we inject 250ºC+ water into your carpet's fibres. This flush sanitizes, rinses, and disinfects the carpeting. The contaminant-filled moisture is then extracted using powerful suction, removing the soils and contaminants from your home and depositing them into the tanks in our trucks (or portable machines if we're cleaning a condo). In most cases, carpets dry naturally in 4-5 hours. If you can, leave your windows open and don't turn your heat up — cool air dries faster than warm air and reduces humidity.
Our cleaning process includes all cleaning products. We move small furnishings, but larger items like beds, desks, dressers, etcetera, are left in place unless you wish to move them for us — we can assist you in moving larger items, but we do not move them ourselves (furniture can often be fragile, so we leave the liability of moving them up to you). We deploy driers as we clean, helping to rapid-dry your home or office space. For carpeting with a higher pile, we conclude our service by grooming the carpet, removing the V-pattern of our tools, as well as all footprints, leaving each space as though we were never there. What you're left with is clean, fresh, decontaminated carpeting, sanitized and healthy for you to enjoy anew.
Our tile cleaning process involves four steps. First, we treat the flooring with a chemical soak, eating into the soiling and greases that coat the tile surface and grout lines. Second, we treat the flooring with dry vapour steam at 340ºC, loosening any and all grime, and rejuvenating grout lines' colouration. Third, we rinse the flooring using hot water extraction at 250ºC+, removing all contaminants. Finally, we dry-polish and deploy driers to help rapid-dry the space. The end result is tile and grout looking years younger. Vibrance and colour are restored. After professional cleaning, we recommend having your grout lines sealed to help protect them from re-soiling over time again. We do not provide sealing services ourselves, but can recommend those who do, or point you in the right direction on how to do it yourself (it's quite an easy process if you're handy).
Darker tile and grout will not see as noticeable a difference for obvious reasons, but they should not be neglected for this reason. Regular maintenance ensures longevity and health, particularly important in high-traffic business spaces like restaurants.
People often forget that their carpets and upholstery are just fabrics and fibres — just like clothing. When you spill something on your favourite t-shirt, you put it in your washing machine. You don't blot it up and keep wearing it. The same general philosophy applies to our flooring and furniture. Upholstery is often subject to even more abuse than carpeting because we lounge or work on it for hours on end. Sweat, dander, skin-shed, dust mites, oils, spills... they all add up, soaking into the material, potentially causing lasting damage. Regular upholstery cleaning can extend your furniture's lifespan, and give you peace of mind knowing its sanitized, healthy, and looking its most vibrant and clean. We use specialized tools to steam clean upholstery. In most cases, upholstery is dry within 2-3 hours.
We can clean almost any upholstered item: sofas, love seats, chaises, recliners, dining chairs, office chairs, RV furniture and bulkheads, mattresses, patio chairs... Ask us about your particular item and we can discuss cleaning options available to you.
Going the Extra Mile...
We take several extra steps that most professional cleaners simply do not. Here are a few of the ways we operate that set us apart from the competition.
- we protect your flooring with drop-cloths
- we use corner guards to protect your walls
- we use driers to help rapid-dry
- we groom higher pile carpets
- we never up-sell products (everything is included)
- we don't sell Scotch Guard (it's not necessary)
- we don't charge for dirty water disposal
